<p>I really want to go to FIU. I go to a private high school out of state (NJ) that is known for good academics. My parents separated freshman year and I had family problems and ended up getting a 2.98 GPA. Then, going into sophomore year with bad luck, a branch struck me in the head, I got knocked out and needed brain surgery. I will involve that in my essay. Anyway, I ended up getting a 3.76 GPA sophomore year. Junior year, I plan on at least a 3.8 GPA. I will apply for early action because I really want to go. On the SAT I got a 1810. I will take it again many times. I am white and can get great recommendations and was awarded the leadership award by the officers in my town. Can I get in? Sorry for all this info I'm just anxious. Thank you in advance.</p>
<p>You’re about the 75% percentile for their SAT scores. And your GPA really isn’t that bad. I think you can get in.</p>

<p>Wow! If you include that story of yours in your essays I think admissions officers will definitely be on your side emotionally. With that, your sports, your decent SAT score, and your research experience I think you have a decent chance, despite your GPA which is a tad bit low, but reasonable. Good Luck!</p>

<p>I think it really depends on the strength of your essay. Your numbers were lacking freshman year, but you’ve pulled them up really well. SAT score is within range, and your ECs are respectable. I think you have a good shot. Best of luck!</p>
<p>Match. GPA is low but FIU is honestly a pretty easy school to get into. Dont sweat it. Same with FAU. USF is a high match/low reach</p>
