Please judge my chances

Hi all,

I am an International student, currently studying 12th Grade in the United Arab Emirates in a school which follows Indian curriculum CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education).

I just wanted to know what my chances were for getting into Georgia Tech for Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering.

I dont have GPA grading in my school. The grading is purely based on marks obtained - :
9th - 85% (this could be approx 3.6+ GPA coz i got A's in all my subjects)
10th - 90% (this could be approx 3.6+ GPA coz i got A's in all my subjects)
11th - 80% (this could be around 3.2-3.4 coz i got few A's and few B's)

I had also recieved a half-fee scholarship in grade 11.

ACTIVITIES :
I have been selected to attend the Global Young Leaders’ Conference (GYLC) in Washington/New York this year.
Swimming
Singing
Made Robot for science exhibition
Created a presentation on the periodic table
Helped the team in coming 3rd in an inter-school robot competition
Part of the school Anti-Smoking Committee
I have been learning Indian Carnatic Music vocal for over 10 years and have give a 2 and half hour concert. I have also been learning Carnatic Music violin for over 3 years.

SAT SCORES:
MATH - 670
CR - 600

Planning to give it again to improve my score ( hopefully around 1350).

Going to give SAT II's in November. Will get above 750 in maths, physics and chemistry.

Teacher Recommendations will be really good. Not sure what the school counsellor will write (but got info from previous school mates in US universities that we usually get really good recs).

Am going to start working on the essays when the apps are released and HOPEFULLY they should be good.

Will appreciate all responses. good as well as bad.

Thanks all.

Ah, you're in...you dont need your SAT II's for gt...and all A's in your subjects would be a 4.0

in addition to the above details i am easily within the top 10% of my class

Please judge my chances......input will also be accepted for the following universities UMich Ann Arbor, UIUC, Purdue, UCLA, UFlorida, Penn State, UMaryland and UVirginia (UVA).

I can also speak for UMaryland that you're in..they dont require SAT II's either

thnx for your help......it certainly brought me confidence...

You have a great shot at GT!

The only reason i got scared that i wont enter GIT was because a few years back the head boy of my school applied to GIT and got rejected for Mechanical Engineering.

The guy was a genius but GIT rejected him but what really astounds me is that all the other years guys and girls from my school who were not as good as him in EC's, academics, awards etc. all entered into engineering.

I also wanted to know whether it is easier to enter GIT for Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering as my primary aim is to get a masters degree in aeronautical engineering and then do my MBA.

they dont differentiate between majors when they accept people...if it makes you feel better you can apply Ivan Allen and then change your major, its quite easy.

but wont it be pretty difficult to enter a major they are good in. i.e. ME and AE

ME is more competitive than AE so I think ME is harder

I got accepted as a Math major and changed to ME quite easily...a lady emailed me asking me if I'd like to change my major before orientation and I said change it to ME.
