My son's HS tends to hang onto PSAT scores and then distribute them at a program for juniors and their parents. About a month ago, I contacted my his guidance counselor and asked if she could get them to us as soon as they arrive, since we may plan a couple out-of-state visits for the first week of January to schools with big NMF scholarships if NMF status appears likely. She agreed to contact us when she gets them, but since it's been a month I'd like to e-mail her a reminder once I hear that they're being sent out.

BTW, has anyone been told an approximate date?

From what i’ve found out, Scores come pack first week of December. Also if you go to this website [My College QuickStart Free College Planning & Career Planning Kit PSAT Scores Online](<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>Student Score Reports) then you can type in your e-mail and college board will notify you when your results are available online.

Since I teach in a HS, I sent my guidance director an e-mail last Monday to see if he had gotten the results. He said that he had not, but would let me know when he did. My son is just a HS freshman, but he took his PSAT in October. Just for fun. We had some extra exams, so our guidance director offered the freshmen a chance to take it. My oldest son was our school’s first ever NM Scholar, so our guidance director knows my youngest son is very excited about taking the PSAT and hopefully, doing what his big brother did.

I was the one who posted about the Monday after Thanksgiving. That was last year. Unfortunately, they did not come home today. It’s strange that not one person on CC has received them yet. Last year some had them before Thanksgiving.

Last year, my son’s (sophomore) PSAT scores arrived at home via US mail. I’m expecting the same this year.

From what I can tell here on CC, many of you receive your results from your schools. Is that a choice made by the schools, or does it vary by state?

They have offered the online scores for at least a year. Son had his online after he took PSAT last year as a soph. Problem is you can’t see them until after you have the score report from the school unless you can convince the GC to give you the test code off of the score sheet. That code is what “unlocks” the online display of each persons scores.

^Ran into this problem last year.
My school’s counselors chose to withhold passing out scores until the semester and all our exams ended. Problem is, our semester ended in the third week of January, and they didn’t even release scores until February. And EVEN THEN, had us pick them up at a 7:00 PM parent meeting about the PSATs.

Here’s an email I received from PSAT parent info email line about the scores and accessing them online:

We received your e-mail in regards to your PSAT scores. I will be happy to assist you.

Scores are projected to be online in Mid-December, but remember students will not be able to access those scores without their access code from the paper score report.

Ask your counselor when those reports will be distributed at your school.

I posted earlier on another thread, but D was informed from her school GC that they received an email from CB that scores would be mailed to schools this Friday, 12/3. Our school expects them early next week, and hopefully (fingers crossed), will be issued to students mid to late next week.

My son ran into our guidance director in the hall and asked about the PSAT. He told us that he would give them out on Tuesday, as he wanted all the kids who took it to report to a meeting where he would explain how the test is scored. Needless to say, my son is bumming … and he’s just a freshman. But he wants to see how he did.

They are on-line as of last night if you signed up for the on-line service last year or for this current year. The big BUT is that you need your access code which is on the actual test booklet. So guidance is still the gatekeeper.
