i’m applying to penn RD (college) and i was wondering what you think of my scores:

SAT I
730 m 750 v

SAT II

770 US History
690 Math 2C
800 Writing

i’m specifically kind of concerned about my Math 2C score (690). do you think that this will be a problem?

also the rest of my stats are:
3.98 gpa, 3 of 214 in class (weighted gpa)

6 APs by end of senior year

lots of community service, ecs, clubs, leadership, etc.
really, really good recs
and (hopefully) really good and solid essays
legacy at penn (i don’t know if this helps…)

yea big mistake not applying ED if you're a legacy... but otherwise you sound qualified. Decent shot, even if you take the legacy factor out of it. If the essays are good, the recs are good, and ur ECs are unique, you could get in, but who knows?

You are definitely qualified and you have as good of a shot as the rest of us. Nobody really can tell you exactly if you'll get in or not. Good luck :)

No. I applied with a lower SATII score...and they still took me. Basically, if they "want" you, they'll take you regardless of one SATII score. It won't get you rejected, and a higher score won't get you accepted.

Look, I did completely crappy on my SAT, so I didn't even bother with the SAT IIs, I just let them have my ACT. I was deferred, so I think people put wayyy too much emphasis on scores. Test scores are important of course, but my theory is that they want a well-rounded individual. Of course, none of us know what goes through their minds, so we freak out and make our own theories and postulates. Just do what you can, give them a good idea of the kind of person/student you are, and then it is out of your hands. Basically, one just has to deal. Best of luck! You sound like a well-deserved applicant.
