Does NW have grade inflation in its pre-med courses? I know JHU and Cornell doesn't in any science courses and I know Northwestern has some but I am concerned if there are any within the science courses, i.e. organic chem, bio..?

No. There is no grade inflation in the pre-med courses at NU.

You made a post on the other thread RIGHT after someone said there is no grade inflation at Northwestern.

yea you are right, sorry guys. Yet personally would you choose NWestern premed, JHU, or Cornell. The other two are cutthroat, yet I hope NWestern isnt that bad and preferably more like Duke or something.

Cornell is not cut-throat, that is completely a bunch of b.s. and you know it, anyone who says it is, is giving false info. Do not think NWestern is a complete joke, those quarters will make life pretty difficult. Honestly, if you want to know where Nwestern probably inflates its grades is probably in the communications and music school, where putting a grade on an actor or muscian is pretty tough.!

how do you know that? collegekid. in 2001, they found that the music school had an average gpa of 3.7; not many premeds in the music school though--what a waste! ;)

Cornell is cut throat, I was accept and visited and pretty much all the students I talked to thought so.

well, i had a different experience. I was an acceptee of Northwestern buddy. Good luck w. those quarters, that makes life much harder.

Collegekid, it all depends on what classes you're taking. I know some folks at NU who don't even break a sweat! While others are in the library or in their dorm rooms nearly 24/7.

I didn't find the quarter system all that troublesome. If anything, it gave you the opportunity to take more classes in subjects of interest to you, even if they weren't in your major (One of the best classes I took at NU was an ethnomusicology class, even though I majored in Media & Politics and Chinese).
