THANK YOU GUYS HAVE A GREAT DAY WHEREVER YOU ARE

I think you have a great chance for Princeton (or any other top school)! I just graduated from college (HYPSM) and my stats and ECs when I applied were pretty similar to yours. Just make sure your essays are in shape and that you tell stories about your experiences in a way that highlights your qualities (ie. if describing your passion for art, you might tell a story about a time when some work of art didn’t end up as planned and how you learned from failure or something like that). And since your sister went to Princeton for undergrad, obviously ask her for tips specific to Princeton.

Don’t bet on it, but because of your hooks and test scores, I think you have a better chance than most. The only thing that is a little lacking is the ECs; I don’t see many and they aren’t very focused (the art is though). The awards will help a lot too. What would your major be? I wouldn’t recommend going to Princeton for art. Anecdotally, I actually wouldn’t recommend going to art school at all. I could see you going into business. If I were to calculate your GPA like they do at my school, you would have an UW 4.0 (depends though, at some schools an A- lowers GPA while an A+ raises it). Good luck!

Chance back?

GREAT CHANCE- I didn’t mean the caps lock lightly. You have amazing grades and SAT scores, amazing depth in the art extracurricular despite there being not that many extracurriculars listed, and legacy on top of all that. I’d almost consider yourself in if I didn’t want to be cautious at the same time.

Chance back? Please be brutally honest http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1904474-chance-me-for-the-following-rising-senior-with-huge-upward-trend-p1.html

OH WAIT LMFAO I FORGOT (before I go ahead and look to chance y’all who’ve replied BTW THANK YOU SM):

  • Editor-in-chief of our school's foreign language magazine

National Latin Exam: Gold Medal (Intro to Latin, Latin I, Latin II, Latin III, Latin IV Prose) + Maureen O’Donnell Classical Dictionary Award
National Spanish Exam: Gold Medal (2014, 2015, 2016)

Does your sister or mom have any contacts within the development office?

Great chance, especially with your hooks, imo.

@sgopal2 My college counselor is a Princeton undergrad '92 (and he’s honestly like my best friend now), and he’s the counselor who talks to Princeton directly for my school - moreover, the admissions person who reviews the kids from my school is also a Princeton alum of '88, with whom both my sister and I are acquainted with personally (this person and I bonded over both being members of the LGBTQ community coincidentally LMAO)

Asian + LGBT will make for an interesting essay. Good luck, I think you’ve got an excellent chance.

Have some backups in place, because as I’m sure you know, Princeton is never a sure shot for anyone.
