It was horrible yesterday, there was a UPS truck…sitting outside our next-door neighbor’s house. Honestly, SOMEONE was getting a kick out of that, even though I"m not sure who may have engineered it…

my worry is, we live in the middle of nowhere and the local ups person knows where our office is in town…usually brings anything sent to our house there instead of winding around out here…so worried he will just wait until monday and bring it to office.

I was always under the impression UPS didn’t deliver on Saturdays. Wrong?

hmmm, not sure now that you mention that…i was going by what was posted by dad55. i know fed ex does saturday…but then again why would tulane pay extra for a saturday delivery for some?
should i let the dog out? LOL

apparently they do
[UPS: Saturday Delivery](http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/shipping/time/service/value_added/sat_delivery.html)

Even though I have no dog in this race, it is hysterical reading your posts! I can’t wait to read that all of you got your prized deliveries. Keeping my fingers crossed! Keep us informed.

OK, nice to know. Must be something they added to compete with FedEx, cause I know I checked a few years ago and they didn’t. Never bothered to check again. I am thinking positive thoughts for all of you. I think they should have made posting on CC worth bonus points for all of you, lol.

its doubtful here vitrac but was worth trying for!

Yesterday at about 5:00p.m. the door bell rang, it was a very nice man in a brown uniform. My heart started beating rapidly and a huge smile came across my face. I ran to the door, took the package and raced to the kitchen to open it…it was an AP Stat book my mom ordered for me…UGH

Oh wow, gabby. That is awful! Well, at least now you know that he knows where you live, lol. Think of it as a practice run.

Hopefully it will be the real deal very soon. :)

We’re just north of Dallas Texas, but nothing yet. The tension is unbearable (at least for me the mom). My son doesn’t really care - he’s just buried in video games today.

I’ll assume if we don’t have something by Tuesday that the scholarship won’t be a reality. At that point, even with the 24K scholarship, Tulane will be off the list. Then it will be either hold our breath for UT-Austin scholarship money (ha!) or choose between University of Arkansas or Utah State. UT State would be better money and better for his major. Arkansas would be closer to home, but not as good a program.

what major is your son looking for?

Just for the record, I’ll post my son’s stats.

He’s 10th in class of 500
Has complete 6 AP classes (mainly earned 4 with two 3’s)
In enrolled in 6 AP classes for senior year.
No leadership positions held in high school
Some community service - helping with Key Club
TaekwonDo (not associated with high school)
German club and few other clubs
National Merit Commended. (missed cutoff for semi-finalist by 10 points)
GPA 3.95 (out of 4)
SAT Reading 740 Math 770 Writing 630
ACT 32 composite
SAT Subject tests Math 2 640 Biology 700 (mainly taken for Princeton app)

Hope the comparison helps after we know if he does or does not get scholarship. I have hopes, but I’m not sure his stats are good enough, considering the competitive nature of apps this year. He didn’t make finalist for Arkansas Prestigious Fellowship and doubt he will get accepted at Princeton.

My son wants to major in environmental science, from the side of how people interact with the environment. He’s not the hard science type. He’d like to work for state or federal government in environmental policy.

good luck everyone!

Have never posted but have been reading this forum for months, as my son is a prospective Tulane student. He as been accepted into honors and we too are waiting with great anticipation for the DHS results. UPS delivers on Saturday only if you request it and pay extra. Does anyone know that they were actually sent? UPS? Please post if you get anything. Thanks and you are all really terrific and knowledgeable people. BTW our whole family is very invested in this scholarship. My oldest son just called and said anything yet?

We just got back 2 weeks ago from a fabulous visit to Tulane and NO. Had an amazing, truly memorable time.

I’m sure for the lucky 100 people Tulane is willing to pay the extra money for Saturday delivery. If not today, then by Monday.

My question is do they notify you via mail if you don’t win? Or are you left wondering if you never received the package?

University of Arkansas used FedEx to deliver finalist notices on President’s Day. My son got the very polite thank you, but we regret to inform you EMAIL from University of Arkansas about 10 pm on President’s Day. I would have rather received the formal no in the mail later that week, than the informal email after business hours.

From what I have read here the “no” letter is hit and miss. No emails, not everyone gets a no or so it seems and if you do it seems to come by snail mail.

I think the people that got a “no” got it because they sent an e-mail asking if they got it. I am reasonably sure that last year, at least, Tulane did not send out things to people that were unsuccessful automatically. I am not sure why not. I know 1000+ no’s is a lot, but I would still think they could do it.
