Please!! My chances at UC Berkeley, Georgia Tech, Carnegie Mellon, Purdue?

Please, what are my chances of getting into these engineering colleges? I am a sophomore in high school.

Freshman GPA
Unweighted: 3.884
Weighted: 4.648

Sophomore GPA
Unweighted: 3.890
Weighted: 4.651

EC's
50+ hrs. of community service
Freshman Soccer (Captain/Best Defensive Player Award)<--idk if that award counts for anything
Nike community service club

PSAT Score
203 (which translates to a 2030 on the SAT)

Are these colleges reaches, or should I try for better schools? I really have no idea. Thanks!

Yankees suck. No chances for you.

Are your from california? I think you're going to have to really bump up your Ec's for a Cal admit. Keep reading the boards and you'll get a better picture as to what the average student that gets accepted to Cal looks like.

Your GPA looks on track, and the PSAT does NOT mean you will get the translated score on the SAT. I got a 210 on the PSAT and I ended up with 1950 on the SAT.

True, junshik. I didn't study for the PSAT at all before I took it, and I was also a sophomore. I'm definitely gonna study like a fiend for the SAT, so hopefully I can bump that score up, if not at least keep it at the same level...

If you bump up your ECs, I don't think Berkeley will be a problem (if your essay is good). I only really know about Cal, sorry.

I disagree with waitingforcal...I don't think Berkeley will not be a problem. For Berkley, you have to have really good ec's, really good grades (which you do have), really good SAT score, and a great essay. It also depends if you're a California resident or not, and what school your applying to.

You're right, Loly, I read too quickly and thought that Yankee was captain of the soccer team SINCE Freshman year.

Yankee, are you still on the soccer team now?
Have you thought about getting a job or an internship? You still have time.

You are probably on pace for merit money at Purdue. You'll definitely get in.

Thanks guys, great answers!

And no, waitingforcal, I had to take a year off from soccer for personal reasons, but hope I can make it back on next year!

Now I need to post a question about what are some good EC's I can do...
