please! need help here.

i have to decide where to attend by may 1st and just cant make a decision.
what would you guys choose among these choices
: u of michigan, ucla, ucsd, cal, boston college

my major is either biochem or bioengineering for all these schools.
plz, help me!
i asked for advise to everyone including GC, teachers, parents and etc.
all they said ware " go wherever you want to go".
well, i dont even know where i wanna go!

Have you visited?

All of your named schools have great science and engineering programs. What else are you looking for in a college? Big time football games? Lots of tradition? Ivy covered walls? Warm climate close to the beach? Modern architecture? A campus in a nice, safe area of town? Maybe these "other" factors will help you to make up your mind.

cal .

if you want bioengineering ucsd is the place to go

ucsd for bioeng all the way.
if it wasn't so close to my dad it would have been my top choice.

Cal or UCLA depending on your choice of urban environment

Since we're in a recession, unless you're wealthy, go to the one that is most affordable. All of the colleges on your list are similarly ranked, so you can't go wrong selecting from your choices.

If money is not important, and you want to go to a smaller college, pick BC.

If you live in Michigan, go to UMich.. if you live in Cali, choose the city you like more, LA or SD .. both are competitive schools. If you are not a resident of either, choose the college atmosphere you like the most. Make sure to do a campus visit because it really does make a difference, there are many people who think they'd love the larger schools.. then find out they like the smaller, or vice versa.

I think UCLA.....

If you can't decide, choose the best financial deal. Why pay more for something that makes no difference to you?

All other things being equal, I would also give a tip to staying reasonably close to home if you have a decent relationship with your parents. It can be really nice to have a parent drive up when you are sick or sick at heart and treat you to a meal out, some goodies, and some unconditional love. :-)
