Please, please answer! Question about Common App activities question.

It's about the prompt on common app where it asks you to elaborate on one of your activities in 150 words or less. Should the response be written like an essay (telling what you learned from one specific experience doing the activity) or like a resume (making a list in sentence form of what you accomplished while doing the activity).

Thanks for answering

Like an essay.

i'd like to hear more responses on this, because i'm not sure i agree.

Up I still don't know which is right

bump again I need an experianced person to give me a definate answer

Since it's under writing, I'm assuming it's just a short answer thing? That's what I did. My activity is an obscure club, so I explained what it is and why I like it.

Not so sure. I feel like if I write it just like a list its really dry/boring.

I don't even know how you would write it like a list?

Mine is a short paragraph explaining everything.

Yeah thats sort of like a list. The club is about X. First I did X and then X. Doing X was hard because of X. I built relationships through this activity and learned X. Seems dry huh?

I think different people will give you very different answers for this question. I have read responses that are really exciting and some serious ones. Some talked about their passion for the EC, some talked about how they are inspired by their EC career-wise.

How about why you chose that activity? Why you stuck with it? What is it that you get out of it?

I guarantee that they don't want to read, "First I did this and then I did that."

Remember what the point of the question is. It's not to tell them what the club does. It's to tell them something about you.
