Please PLEASE chance me(: ivies/ucs

Female
Sophomore at reasonably competitive high-school
4.82 unweighted GPA
800 CR 760 math 740 writing
2300 sat
taking ap calc bc as a sophomore
Projected 1% of class
Potentially playing soccer in college- already beginning recruitment process, have been in contact with Harvard, Carnegie Mellon, johns Hopkins , Dartmouth coaches etc, feel I have a good chance of being actively recruited by these schools as a junior

Please chance me!
Also, how big of an impact can athletics have upon an application? How much easier is it to get in as a recruit able athlete?
Thanks<3

I will chance back:D

More:
Class of about 500
Taking most rigorous course load available- next year almost all aps
I am also Hispanic

Take this with a grain of salt; I’m not very experienced at judging, but you seem to have fairly high chances. Athletics – combined with good SAT scores, being at the top of the class, and being Hispanic – are huge pluses for you.

If they want you for a team, with your stats, you’re in.

Ah I hope. Thanks for the replies!

Awesome stats. As Waverly said, if you are a college caliber soccer player, and they want you on your team - your definitely in.

chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1294761-chance-me-will-chance-back.html

Bumppp… Anyone?(:

Chance me?

If as a sophomore you have been able to achieve all those things then there’s no question that as a senior, you’ll have quite a lot of offers as long as your essays and recommendations are good :).

Thanks for the input… Any idea how my chances would change if for some reason, the athletics didn’t work out?

You’d become just another qualified candidate, in other words, chances go way down.

“Any idea how my chances would change if for some reason, the athletics didn’t work out?”

what are your other ECs like?

To be honest, most likely sub par. I’m on a super competitive club soccer team, and so that takes up most of my time. I’m active in several clubs, hopefully will take on a few leadership positions next year. Some , but not much community service. I’ve won a few individual state awards through hs soccer, and many national awards with my team, but as these are not individual idk… I take the PSAT next year, so hopefully will be a national merit semi finalist… I hope to expand my ecs more next year but …

Alright, well if the soccer thing doesn’t work out you’ll still be qualified and have a shot - your stats are good. You’ll just have to find some way (through essays, mainly) to make yourself stand out.

Alright , thank you(:
Fingers crossed soccer works out.

I would almost call it a runaway guarantee that you will get in. The only person on this board who anyone has probably ever said that too. URM+Recruit+Scores=guaranteed. Even if you weren’t recruited, I would give you a great chance. LOL

Haha thanks for the input!(:

last time I checked, you can’t have a 4.8 unweighted gpa.

It’s weighted, 4.00 unweighted, oops(:
