Please, please help me get into college

I need some help to get to college. My family is what I would call "poor" so college, I knew, would be a challenge. My EFC is $0.

What I need help with is to find a college that offers A LOT of financial aid, mostly need-based aid.

I have above-average grades:

I'm currently a Junior, living in Southeast Michigan.
ACT score pending: (Likely) 27
3.6 GPA
I have a very rigorous schedule. It's not packed with AP classes but it's definitely a good amount.
One of my cons is I failed and dropped AP Physics.
One of my better points is I will be Student Senate President next year (Senior Year). This pretty much means I will run my Leadership Class and I will be the most important and powerful student in my school. Sorry it's extremely cocky, but it's kind of the truth. I will run all of the events happening at my school such as Prom, Homecoming, other activities...

Please, I really need some help from anyone. I CANNOT take out a loan, there is no way in hell my dad would let me. I need a full ride to somewhere. I can probably achieve the full Pell Grant but I don't know where to go after that. I could try 3rd-party scholarships but I can't see myself winning one of those. I can go out-of-state but obviously the increased tuition needs to be kept in mind. What colleges could offer enough "for-sure" scholarships that could get me a full ride? FYI, I'm not look for the top universities. I'm looking for a good university, albeit one that I can achieve a full ride through merit and MAJOR need.

Thank you, so much, to whoever helps me.

Go to community college and transfer to the best state Uni you can would be my advice. If your EFC is 0$ you should be getting 5500$ from pell grant alone, which will more than cover books and tuition at a CC.

Community College seems “below” me. Do you think I have any other options?

Apply to some in state schools, but I doubt you will get a ton of money. You may need to got to CC for two years and then transfer. It’s not the end of the world.

colleges are stingy as hell about scholarships this year from what I’ve heard

many CCs have partnerships with universities in that state

No. Apply to many second and third tier schools, who will give you money. Get Barron’s directory and start researching now. YOu have lots of time. Retake the ACT if you want in the fall. Relax. Be organized and be focused.

There are HUNDREDS of excellent schools out there who will give you money. Some loans are NORMAL for kids.

And also, you could work for a year and save ALL your money and then apply. Lots of kids do that…graduating later, but without debt.

Central Michigan, Western Michigan both good schools. But also some private schools will give you money. Look in Northern Ohio as well.

Apply for outside scholarships through your guidance counselors.
