Even if the MOC is early, if he submits his list of 10 candidates to the Academy and asks them to make a competitive selection, the selection may not be made until all the 10 candidate's packages are complete or they are absolutely positive that they have identified the top candidate. Applications are not due until the end of January and updates may be made for another month so the packages may not be totally complete, and a decision can not be made, until March 1.

Congrats to everyone! I had almost given up on LOAs and was focusing on my NROTC apps when I got my LOA in the mail Thursday! I ran around my yard waving the letter in the air with my neighbors staring at me yelling "NAVY!" I wore everything with "Navy" on it I could find to school the next day. Sure makes senior a heckuva lot easier when you know you're going to the UNITED STATES NAVAL ACADEMY!!!! See yall in June, Class of 2012. Go Navy, Beat Army!

Hey everyone, I'm new here. I have been checking out this site for awhile and decided to join. My application to USNA is complete meaning I am medically qualified, I have a nomination, CFA scores = great, etc. In fact, my application was complete minus the nomination on 16SEPT. I got the nomination 15OCT and now it is 28OCT. I am just curious, is it normal for me to be going nearly out of my mind waiting to hear something? I am retaking the CFA this week even though I did well on it, just to improve. I don't know what else to do with myself while I wait. Advice, comments, questions?

I assume your nomination is a presidential one? If so, you should still have the congressional nomination interviews, etc to keep you busy for the next month or so at least.

If you want my opinion, your 1.0 mile and shuttle run are really awesome! My weak point was the running, but I have been working on that since NASS in JUN. My advice is to retake the CFA (after communicating with your Regional Director first, to make sure its alright) and improve on pull ups, push ups, and those cruches. Try to max at least one thing and make sure you train for it. Take it or leave it.

Here's how I did... keeping in mind that I am a 5 ft. tall female:
Pull ups - 7 (thats right, no flexed arm hang crap)
Push ups - 50
B-Ball Throw - 40? I think it was around there
Shuttle Run - 11.something
Crunches - 95
1.0 mile run - 8:07

So the way I see it, how the hell does one improve a kneeling bball throw? Yeah thats right. But the running def can be better, hence why I decided to retake it. I'll let you know what the new scores will be.
