<p>Please chance me for the ivies minus cornell and upenn! Thanks in advance!
GPA: 98.218 weighted
SAT: 2240 (720 m, 720 r, 800 w)
SAT 2s: 710 m1, 700 lit
Placed 3rd in semi finals for national speech competition 9th and 11th and 2nd in 10th
Invited by asst principal to interview prospective teachers with her and other adults
Student gov't leadership positions
French club sec last year
MUSIC - voice and THEATER (leads in plays, area all state, a capella, drama club, etc)
Peer leadership, Chinese club, student organization, academic league, honor societies
I play violin and piano
Madrigal Singers leader (I conduct for all concerts and direct rehearsals when teacher gone)
GREEK DANCING is my other huge commitment - I'm asst teacher and lead dancer
A lottt of soccer in and out of school (a lot) in addition to school track
VP of Greek Orthodox Youth Assoc group at my church (volunteering, fundraisers, etc)
A good amount of volunteer service</p>

<p>I'm very involved and passionate about all things performing and being in front of people and I wrote about that in my essays
Teacher recommendations should be amazing because I picked people that love me
I got an extra recomm from my school plays' director who was also my teacher for 2 years
I had a live voice audition at Princeton (I think it went pretty well, not amazingly)
Sent in a decent not "outstanding" voice supplement to Brown, Columbia, & Harvard
I interview very well IMO so hopefully interviews count somewhat
I got into Georgetown if that means anything...</p>

<p>I’d say upenn would be a low to mid reach but you definitely have a shot! I’m worked there over the summer and its a great school. I’m applying there too hah</p>

<p>I’m betting you’ll get into maybe two of these, but I may be overestimating the difficulty.</p>

<p>I don’t know where anyone is coming up with a low reach for any of these schools with a 1440 (below average) CR/M, below aerage SATIIs and no rank much less mention of being val or sal which close to half the class at even the ‘lower’ ivies are, and no exceptional ECs.</p>

<p>I’d put all as major reaches.</p>

<p>I believe you have 60 to 70% to get into at least two of these. If your essays are good, you play varsity soccer, and have musical talents you increase your chances a lot. Dont need to get only the best SATs you need to show them all your abilities… you might need some kind of work though… Nd if you are a minority you will prob raise a lot more your chances… Believe i have a lot of friends in the Ivies…</p>

<p>youre very deservind for most of these schools but i think a lot of it comes down to luck. i know thats a ****ty unsatisfying answer but its the truth. theyre all low reaches (well Harvard, Princeton, yale are probly high reaches) but only because theyre that way for everyone. i know people with worse stats who got accepted and people with better stats who got rejected. </p>

<p>hmom5… its honest but pretty misguided. 1440 is on par for the 25-75th percentiles at most ivies (probably not HYP but still…) and its good that you have a lot of ec’s in one area.</p>

<p>i’d say: HYP: high reach (GPA, SAT’s…)
Brown: mid/low reach
Columbia: mid reach
Dartmouth: low reach</p>

<p>As with all of the ivies, you could fit the mold for their ideal frosh perfectly, and they still may not pick you.</p>

<p>It looks really good that you have a lot of stuff going on, however, at some point, the admissions committee may wonder just how dedicated you are to everything. You know what I mean? You show a lot of passion, don’t get me wrong, but some people may take it as “this girl just has so much going on. I wonder how much of it she does just for show.”</p>

<p>I’m not trying to be mean, just offering a different opinion. You’re a reach for most of the ivies; your stats are incredible and you have a lot of good ec’s. But it’s up to the committee to decide.</p>

ik that my gpa and sat scores aren’t “high” for these schools, but i’ve done extensive research for all these schools and they’re still in the range. i’m mainly concerned with my extracurriculars and the issue oxolojo made.
i’m extremely dedicated to pretty much ALL my extracurriculars (which is why my grades couldve been much higher than they are) but i’m afraid that i will look too all-over-the-place and that im doing it just for show. some people say that it does look like that and some say not at all, so i’d definitely like fellow cc users’ opinions on this.
i really love these schools and although ik they’re crapshoots for most, it’s nice to prepare myself for how much of a crapshoot they are for me.
i wonder if anyone else has the same problem with presenting themselves in the right light…</p>
