Please rank these colleges for engineering

Hi,

I am looking for a engineering college and come up with this list. Can you please rank these by engineering program and also quality of life and social.
I really am set on engineering but also want to have some limited fun in school.

Bucknell University
University of Rochester
RPI
Syracuse University
Stevens Institute of Tech.
RIT
Lehigh University
State University of Binghamton (Cheap tuition)

Thanks for your help in advance.

RPI
U Rochester (better qual of life than RPI)
Lehigh
Syracuse
Stevens
RIT
Bucknell
SUNY Binghamton

RPI (easily best on this list)

Rochester

Lehigh

RIT

Syracuse

Stevens

SUNY

Bucknell

My dad took engineering (B.S.E.E) but for the most part I really do not find any other majors as interesting to me.

Why is Bucknell on the bottom of this list for engineering? I thought it was suppose to have a solid program?

Also, thanks for your replies. They are greatly appreciated.

Bucknell is probably not the bottom but RPI is definitely the "best". Make sure you like the environment there though since I've heard it is quite different from Uroch.

yeah, i would agree that rpi is the best. rochester is probably overrated on most of those lists (i like the school, but the engineering program really isnt that well regarded) and bucknell underrated (its similar in quality to lehigh and rit). binghamton should probably be last and is the only school i wouldnt attend for engineering (both stony brook and buffalo have stronger engineering depts).

as far as quality of life... really depends on what you want out of your college experience.

I would go to Rochester over RPI in a heart beat unless you are diehard for engineering.

How's stevens institute of technology? I remember reading somewhere on this forums that NYU sends it engineering students to Stevens. Is this true?

I met up with a stevens rep at a local college fair... From what he told me, it seems like a great place ( diverse student populatoin, lots of student clubs, proximity to city, etc ). Then again, he's there to market his school. I hope to pay a visit soon.

What do you guys think about it?

Thanks

P.S: I am hoping to major in Mechanical Engineering ( and if my coureload allows me, to minor in Economics or a foreign language)
