Sooo I'm a transfer softmore student from UNC-Pembroke I had a 2.64 in high school and I did pretty well this year at college, I only failed one class (for freshmans my dad said that wasn't all that bad). My SAT scores were kinda low, I made a 950/1600. I know I'm really smart but I just dont always apply myself but I really just want to be given a chance as a transfer to UNChapel Hill. I know that normally these scored would be low, but I was wondering if I talked to them and explained that I'm really going to try really hard if they might let me in. Also, I'm a pretty good writer (b- in freshman english) so I figure I can write a pretty good essay.

As a transfer student, you shouldn’t be failing any classes. Your chances are very slim, I seriously doubt that a “pretty good” essay can help offset your scores. But I don’t know much about UNC- so who knows.

Hey, I’m from NC. The first thing you should know is that you are a sophomore. :)

Make sure you meet the requirements:

" * Required Math Courses – One of the following: Math 152, Math 130, Math 231, Math 232, STOR 151
* Required English Courses – English 101 and English 102
* Required Foreign Language Courses – If your intended foreign language is Spanish, then we strongly recommend that you complete Spanish 1, Spanish 2, and Spanish 3 (as well as Spanish 4 if it is required for your degree)."

I’m a high school student, so I don’t know much about UNC’s admissions. However, as a sophomore applicant they are going to consider your high school record more closely than a junior or senior applicant.
