I'm going to be a sophomore this year and my schedule will be:
Honors English 2
AP World History
AP Environmental Science
Honors Chem
Honors Precalc

I've opted out of a lunch so I can take both Chem and Environmental Science. I'm really nervous about doubling up on my sciences. If you could give any advice on that, it would be helpful.

Personally, for me, forgoing lunch is not an option.

No foreign language?

Honors Spanish 3
Chorus (it’s an honors course so that’s the only reason I haven’t decided to drop it)
Psych/Sociology (in preparation for AP psych next year)

I doubled up on sciences my sophomore year and took AP Biology and Honors Chemistry. It was tough but doable. I think you can do it. But don’t give up your lunch! You need some free time during the day. It’s easy to be overly ambitious when you’re making your schedule, so you need to really think through everything.

Thanks TotallyTrudy and skieurope for replying! I don’t really eat that much at lunch and I usually have snacks throughout the day, so I figured it would be okay to skip a lunch.

Personally, I always like to have a lunch as a break during the day. It was where I could do some socializing, study for any upcoming tests, and in the rare case that I forgot to do my homework. I doubled up on sciences as well my senior year, with physics and APES, but the labs were only on 1/4 days a week so I always made sure the labs didn’t conflict with a lunch period. I would only opt out of a foreign language if you absolutely can’t stand it or have taken the equivalant of year 3 or 4 of that language already. Check with your individual college

Okay, the obvious is issue here is your termination of your lunch break. School is like a job, and we all need a break. Please do not drain yourself during sophomore year. If you really want to take these 2 sciences, I would recommend relaxing for 30 minutes or so right after school. And have a couple of snacks during the day. Also have a great breakfast, you’ll need it. However, I would say that your schedule is very challenging, but doable for a sophomore. Just maintain focus and you should be good!
