im going to write the same essay that got me acceptance to this private school after that sophomore year during mid-August<<<.

(One last thing)

I thought you wanted brutal honesty... And yes, I'm sure colleges would in fact consider a WF out of a sea of A's.

Prepare for the worst, especially if your secondary transcript will include the WF. Colleges aren't as sensitive when it comes to "giving up."

Trust me, through what I've seen with WF's, it is incredibly difficult regardless of your financial/social stance.

Make sure you properly "recycle" that essay when you apply to colleges. Chances are you will need to use the Common App essays to accomodate your topic choice.

Remember, there ARE things that you can do to change things around for the better. However, this is far from the whole "no guarantees" chances situation. It's more of a "deep ****" chances situation.

If you can pull it off, pull it off. This is America, the land of oppurtunities. All you can do is pursue one, and hope to god that you seize it. That's all I can say. I'm pulling for you though ^_^

so then how would you rank my chances at acceptance to these schools?
and i know i really thank you for the brutal honesty, just when you do it, be prepared for a brutal response :). dont think im taking it offensively, i really appreciate your input.

do you think its really worth doing?
i mean i got a 90 on the final, and i had like 2 A+'s and an A as quarter grades. it was literally one quarter that brought it down to that

I think you're exaggerating there a bit buddy. With a 90, 95, 95, 90 (I converted your estimates to numbers) even if you got a 0 one marking period, you'd still have a 74.

Oh, and, you better add some safeties to that list. My friend, 2nd in our class, who had probably only had 1 or 2 B's at worst, got waitlisted or rejected from eight schools of those caliber. No D in physics, No WF's, and 2nd in the class. Solid sats, and good ec's. Plus, next year, college admissions will be even harder. I completely below the above story about kids having to consider community college. Had she not been accepted to TCNJ, she would have had to do the same.

You want options in April. Pick about 4 of those schools you like best, and 4 will acceptances rates much, much higher that you could see yourself attending. A rolling decision school, or early action school is also reccomended. I'm not trying to condescend you, I'm only looking out. I had no visible scars on my application that are similar to yours, and I only got into one reach for me, and rejected/waitlisted at the other four.

Don't u usually need 4 units of English in grades 9-12 almost everywhere?

actually im really not exaggerating. i got a B on the midterm. I had a 17 average in the third quarter, a 97 in the first, a 92 in the second. honestly i dont remember what my average was in the fourth but it wasnt that bad. it was probably like a C. So sorry if i slightly exaggerated. and yeah, russian literature is considered an english course. It's written in english :)
