Im a genuinely smart kid, but I love partying. I want a large university 13,000plus. I'm interested in biology and possibly nursing. I have a 3.5 gpa and a 30 as my act score. I like warm weather but climate isn't really an issue, (unless it's Alaska haha)! What are some good matches for me, academics are important to me but I'm also a social butterfly, so I'd need a good balance. Please answer truthfully and honestly! Thanks again

I’m in a very similar boat. I’ve been looking at JMU, UCONN, Syracuse, and Penn State. Not sure if you would like the weather with those though. You should look into James Madison University… It looks perfect haha. Let me know what you think.

If you want the balance of partying and academics and you can handle the out of state tuition costs, look at more prestigious public universities like UNC, UVA, USC, etc.

Check out USC (University of South Carolina) Honors College! I think your GPA might be a bit low, but you ACT is good.

It’s a large state school. (20,000 undergrad, 30,000 total) We have a pretty great party scene. (Michael Phelp’s fall in the press where he got high was at USC. hah.) We’re the number 20 party school in the US.

The academics are really great too. We have the number one Public Honors College in the country and the number one program in International Business.

Sounds like a perfect match for you. :)

Also, if you get a scholarship (basically all Honors College students do), then you’d get in-state tuition PLUS the scholarship, so it’s really rather affordable. We’re also heavy in the out-of-student population. It’s around 40% out of state I think, so you definitely wouldn’t be alone.

Oh and I see you want to do Nursing or Biology. We have really good programs in both. I know that the Nursing Program is really competitive and only ends up taking the top 200 students after the first two years in the program.
