I want to major in Biology, is this a very competitive, and hard major to get into?

what kind of GPA do i need to get accepted, and what kind of ACT score?

My freshman year, i got a 3.0 my Sophmore year i had a 3.6 and I am now in my junior and the first grading period has passed and i got my report card, and i got a 2.9 on it ( i was abcent alot due to a death in my family) I have not taken my act yeat, i take it on the 13, i was wonder if i need way better grades to get into this school for Biology Major.

Thank you!

It is a tough school to get into depending on the major you apply to. It will help that you will be living in cal. Eng. and Arch. are 2 or the roughest majors to get, but if you get your gpa closer to a 3.7 and do well on your act(since they prefer that test over sat) you should be in pretty good shape. I'm waiting to hear about my ed to arch. good luck!

I am sorry for the death in your family and hope that things are looking up now. Being realistic, Bio is not as tough as eng and arch and business but you will still need higher than a 3.13. The thing is it is based on your gpa in a-g classes which may be higher than your overall GPA so figure that out and the picture may be brighter than it looks right now. Best of luck to you. Try to pull that GPA up for the rest of the year and it will improve your odds as well.

One more thing, you really should check out the residency requirement section of the CSU mentor website. I don't know how long you have to live in CA to be considered in state but I think you have to be her for more than a year prior to applying.

Your not going to get in man. You dont have the stats. Go to your local JC and take some classes and get your gpa up
