Hey, so I know this was super stupid of me, but I never really got close to any of my teachers last year. I know one social studies teacher I had junior and sophomore year that even offered to write me a recommendation letter, and I know she'll write a great one so I'll definitely ask her ASAP, but I really don't have anyone to ask for my second teacher.
I want my second recommendation letter to be from a math or science teacher. Though I got my A and my 5 on the AP exams, I didn't stand out in math or science last year at all. My junior year math and science teachers would probably give me a very generic letter.

My AP Chem teacher this year is a new teacher at our high school, but he taught science to me in 8th grade and still remembered my name and face. I was thinking of explaining my situation to him and asking if I could help out as much as I can (I know he needs it cuz it seems like he's having a bit of trouble adapting to high school and getting organized) if he would be able to write me a recommendation letter. He's a really cool and chill teacher, but I don't know if this is the best option for me. If this is like not rude to do or anything, then I would like to try asking, but I also know I have a November 1 deadline for early action, so I'm not sure how quickly I can help for him to feel he can write a recommendation letter, and I also don't know how much time he'll need to write a recommendation letter.

What do you guys think?
