Please read my statement

This is a statement on the UW-Madison application. The question is... Consider something in your life you think goes unnoticed and write about why it is important to you. Please look for places I could word things differently possibly and also give general feedback about the content. Also does anybody think I should do a paragraph break anywhere for a 300-500 word statement?
Here it is:
There are many instances in my life when something bothers me, but most of the time they are “big picture” items such as what will happen to me in the future. However, there is something that has reoccurred many times over my few years in high school that probably shouldn’t bother as much as it does, and that is my parent asking “shouldn’t you be doing your homework?” This six-word sentence really gets under my skin, especially when they ask me as I am simply taking a five-minute break from doing that homework. It truly baffles me that my parents really think sometimes that I am not going to do my homework, me, the kid who eagerly waits for report cards just to see how my hard work has paid off by the changing of a few magic little numbers. What I am trying to get at is that a lot of the work I put into different matters goes almost completely unnoticed, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Don’t hear me wrong, my parents are not the kind of parents who push their kid extremely hard to succeed, but they are still there to help and encourage me. Sometimes I will spend 3 hours on a homework assignment, and stay up until past one or two in the morning to do so, and all that I will get in return is a check mark or a couple of points in a grade book. But I have truly realized this past year or so that putting unnoticed work into anything you do is one of the best things I can do for myself, and I bet that holds true for others also. Taking breaks from work however is also extremely important. This time can be used to do many things, but most of all take a mental break. Unfortunately, these things can still bother me while trying to do some work, especially when a little jingle or vibration radiates from my phone or tablet and snaps my focus, but I digress. I know that a lot of my work goes unnoticed because my peers think that I can just naturally ace a test without studying at all. The good thing about my unnoticed work is that I usually like the work I am doing and try to aid my learning by incorporating it into my everyday life, which I found extremely easy to do for my AP microeconomics class that I took this year in this dynamic economy we live in. Other students commonly complain that they are not doing well in a class because of the teacher. But to me they completely misunderstand the root of their problem, and that is the fact that they are only blaming the teacher because the teacher’s work or lack thereof is noticed by thirty students, however the work that they are not putting into it themselves goes completely unnoticed and therefore does not concern them at all.

I would avoid posting your essay on CC. PM it to people who you trust with it. By posting it you make it way to easy for others to copy it.

Sounds like you are bashing your parents. makes it seem like your parents are over-bearing and pushy. Why would you want to focus on that for your essay?

Yes on the paragraph break. Also, frankly, this comes across as whiny. I would totally be annoyed too by my parents saying that, but that doesn’t mean it’s a good topic for a college application essay.
