OK…I am very interested in going to Boston University…I have 1400 SATs, OK extracurricars, (Amnesty International, drama club, gay straight allience, school play) but my freshaman and sophomore grades are pretty bad (Bs, Cs, Ds) However, these were all in honors classes. Junior year I have a 3.8 Unweighted GPA with AP Chemistry and US History and honors in other subjects and this year I’m taking AP World HIstory, AP World Literature, and AP Calculus.

How are my chances?

Sorry...I also forgot to mention that I had a cousin who went to BU.

you probably have a good shot since you have good SATs and your grades have an upward trend.

your stats actually sound kind of like mine...what's your class rank?

Your upward trend will be an important thing. Also, are the extenuating circumstances for 9th and 10th grade....or did you just not do well?? Unless your cousin endowed the school in a big way, that relationship will not factor into your acceptance or lack of acceptance. What is your overall GPA now?

My school doesn't rank, I believe my overall GPA is a 3.2 unweighted, and there weren't extenuating circumstances...I was just really bored/lazy.
