i am taking ap chem, ap english language, and apush soon. i am not going to study for the ap chem because i hate chem but i am studying the apush with the rea. can any of you recommend me some books for Ap english language that is not good but great? i want to get a 5

i want to delete this question..i just found the recommended ap books thread. how do you do it?

You can't. Anyway, if you do read the thread, I hope you realize that some people will recommend one company, others will recommend another, and eventually, you'll have people supporting each of the prep books! Anyway, for AP US the people here generally like the AMSCO and Princeton Review. I personally thought REA was okay, but the practice questions weren't that realistic and they had too much review. I liked Princeton Review. For AP English Language I really like Writing the AP English Essay, published by McGraw-Hill. I looked at CliffsAP for AP English; that book's okay as well, but mainly for its multiple-choice and sample essays. The McGraw-Hill book actually teaches you how to write quick and effective essays.

Cliff....i had a teacher last year, who although tried very hard, ultimately did not know what he was talking about. I reviewed Cliff's english lang the day before and ended up getting a 4. Mind you i have never written a complete timed essay in class until then. good luck =)

you really dont need a prep book for english lang. if u want to review just memorize some rhetorical devices or something
