Please recommend some private universities

<p>It doesn't matter to me where the uni is. Just, please recommend any to which you think I have a good chance of getting accepted.</p>

<p>GPA: 3.7 (unweighted); Weighted: 4.2
SAT: 1970</p>

<p>-Math: 650
-CR: 690
-Writing: 630</p>

<p>Private high school
Total of 8 AP classes taken, rest all honors level
NHS in grades 10, 11, 12
Varsity Soccer 9, 10, 11, 12
Drama 10, 11
Math Team 9, 10
Debate Team, 12
Model UN, 12
Junior volunteer at local hospital 9, 10, 11, 12 (over 200 hours)
Islamic school 9, 10, 11, 12
Jobs at McD's and currently, Best Buy (average of 25 hours a week)
Ethnic minority - Afghan (parents are refugees)
Parents never went to college (not even to high school, actually)

<p>Probably something pre-law, with a minor in Arabic.</p>

<p>I know you said private, but, also consideer these great schools:</p>

University of Michigan - Slight Reach

<p>I think your Ethnic background and 1st generation college student status will help out at all these schools.</p>

<p>If Arabic will not be a minor (I can perfect my skills on my own, I guess, and then take some proficiency test), which other unis could you guys recommend?</p>

<p>Way too many, lol. Seriously, what do you want in a school? Big? Small? Liberal? Conservative? Urban? Rural? You know...that sort of thing...</p>

<p>i would hardly call OSU a "great" school but to each his own i guess. </p>

<p>you should look at:</p>

<p>U Miami (FL) - safe match (great scholarship money)
New York University - low match</p>

<p>I would have to disagree with that, Quincy4. His SATs are below average or average for U of M, and his GPA is average. He's also out of state.</p>

<p>I think the SAT scores are on the low end of the scale for NYU, but it's not too far of a reach.</p>
