Im trying to get into either Norfolk state university or Virginia union i have a 1.5 gpa for all four years but thats because my first year i had a 1.0 second year a 1.4 third a 1.5 and senior year a 2.2 but senior year i took 9 classes. But i took the ACT and scored a 23 one of my friends got in with a 2.0 and a 17 on his ACT . I was going to also write on some reasons why my gpa scores are so low.. I was just wondering what are my chances on these HBCUs also im biracial with asian and black i dont know if that makes a difference. i posted this a couple of times before and people wont reply i just really want to talk to some one on my chances. Will the colleges see my improvement and my motivation taking 9 classes my senior year and passing them all and see that im not dumb from my ACT test score?

I replied to you earlier. Your case can’t be logically commented upon by a group of strangers. Admittedly, your low GPA makes you a risky admitted student. However, I also know that HBCUs are willing to take risks – especially with students like you who seem to show maturity and initiative. Your next step is to SPEAK DIRECTLY to Admissions officers at Norfolk or VA Union. You can’t expect better answers from this forum than you can receive from them.

They may tell you YES, NO or Yes with conditions (i.e. you might be a probationary student). No one here can tell you any of those things – WE DON’T KNOW YOUR CHANCES. And even if we did, would that reassurace really be that valuable?

Good luck.
