Please reply, ND chances?

I am a senior at the top math and science school in Delaware. I had a low GPA my freshman year of 2.7, but Sophmore year 3.53, and Junior year 3.9. This year so far it's around 4.2. Up through Junior year my cumulative GPA is 3.4. I am taking almost all honors/ap's, except english I am one level below. I took AP Computer Science last year, and am taking AP Calculus AB, and AP French this year. I am a teacher's assistant in Computer Science this year and plan to major in Computer Science. My school does not rank due to how competitive it is but my class has 220 students in it. I wrote what I think is a very good essay(on growth), and my teacher's agree. I also have strong rec. letter's from my computer science teacher(A graduate of Carnegie Mellon).
SAT:
Math: 710
Verbal: 600

SAT II: I will be taking these in December in Math IIc, Writing, and Chemistry. I took practice test's and should be over 700 on all of them.

ACT: I am taking in December

My Extra Curriculars:
Cross-Country 9-12
Outdoor Track and Field 9-12

I have done a lot of community service through boy scouts but it was not on a single project. (I was elected to the Order of the Arrow in Scouting, a group of elite scouts dedicated to service, and you must be voted in by a majority, be approved by the scoutmaster, and have a minumum rank and age)
In 10th grade I won first place in engineering at my school science fair(about 250 compete)
I was awarded a Rising Star Award for Science FairNot to many people get them each year at my school)
I placed third in Engineering in the county Science Fair
I went to the regional science fair sponsored by Intel, but did not place.(It was only the top three per grade)
I have had a part-time job at Sears as a cashier since eleventh grade(about 20 hours a week during the school year, and 35 during the summer)

The school I really want to got to is the University of Notre Dame. Ever since I first visited I wanted to go there. I figure if I don't get in, I will try to transfer over after freshman year of college. My school I currently attend is top in the state, but me and one other student, are the first to apply from my school. My school typically attracts the students looking towards Ivy League schools, but for some reason not Notre Dame. My school is very competitive with 220 in my class, and will not release rank. I had a lot of difficulty adjusting and balancing my extracurricular activities my freshman year in high school, and it really messed my four year average up. Could anyone give me an honest opinion on my chances?

My first question would be are you going to get Eagle this year? Are you in the middle of your project? If so, make sure that you tell them that you are finishing your Eagle!

In the last section of the app I would make note of your huge improvement in gpa every year. I would also call admissions and ask them how you should treat the no class rank thing.

I pay attention to their admissions and sometimes it seems there is not a lot of rhyme or reason - it can be very hard to predict. But your SAT is good, and hopefully your ACT will be, as well. ND does not require SAT II's but I'm sure they consider the scores as supplemental information.

It is definitely easier to transfer into ND than to get in as a freshman, although transferring makes it difficult to get on-campus housing. If you need to go this route, just make sure you go to a good four year university for your first year, and (this is important) make contact with the transfer representative from ND admissions and take exactly the courses they advise you to in order to be considered a good transfer candidate. I know a kid who had a 1290/3.5 and didn't get in freshman year but got a 3.5 at his original school and then transferred into ND for sophomore year.

Good luck!

I never made eagle and did not have the time to balance my job and scouts. I am still registered but haven't actively participated since the end of last year.

Just wondering, but why would a CM graduate teach at your school?

Because he want to be a teacher at the collegiate level but, didn't want to take any more years to get his phd at cmu due to the difficulty(he only finished his master's), and my school is the top school for math and science so he is met with many brilliant students and has fun there.

I ment top school for math and science in the state

Charter sucks. AI is better.

I have nothing against AI, but we're better and you know it.

Have it your way.

BTW, a 4.0 at AI > 2.9 at Charter.
