Please respond ASAP! Barret Honors question

Hi guys! Sorry for the urgent-ish title, but I only have till March 31st. I got into W.P Carey and I have a SAT score that fits Barrett (1370) and what I assume to be a sufficient GPA (We dont use GPA around my school, but I’m in the higher levels of my class) for Barrett.

Problem is, I don’t think it’s a good idea to apply now. Why? Because I’d be applying for Late Consideration II at this point. I doubt many who apply now get in, especially with average scores like that. Thing is, I can instead apply to transfer to Barrett after just one semester, but I’m unsure whether I have better chances through a transfer or as a Late Consideration. The important part is, to my impression, Barrett only allows you to send in one application per school year. That’s the bottom line issue, and the reason it makes this so complicated. Otherwise, I’d just apply both times!

Is it a better decision to apply now, or for transfer during my first semester? What is you guys’ take? Thank you so much!

There are many accepted students who have not and will not accept their Barrett acceptance. Final decision for everybody is May 1. Students accepted at Barrett who haven’t committed yet are accepted at a lot of nice schools, so they have a lot to chose from. I think there will be a lot of slots opening up after May 1. Why not apply and see if you can get in? If you get in, you start off where you wanted to be in the first place, right? If you apply in the fall, are they are going to be looking at your first semester at ASU for your grades? You already know what your grades are now, do you think you can do better in your first semester of college? Just things to think about. Good luck with your decision!

@IncomingSunDevil - Sorry this is past your deadline. I don’t think you hurt yourself either way. If you decide to wait, make sure you do well academically once at ASU. They will look at your ASU performance with more weight than HS academics (I think).
