i am applying RD to tufts, only because if i did ED II i would get nervous that it wasnt my first choice and i was making a mistake... anyways
I have a 1310 SAT (660v 650 m)
Horrible SAt 2's :( i know they probably wont accept me because of them:
630 Bio, 620 writing, and 570 math
I play varsity tennis, track and cross country
I do alot of community service
Good Letters of rec...etc
-and my dad went to tufts, so i have a legacy
any chance at all???

is there a chance? well yeah, there's always a chance.

what is your GPA? class rank? how rigorous a curriculum? (AP classes? test results?) how dedicated are those ecs?

http://admissions.tufts.edu/admstat.htm <~check this for more details on admission stats for class of 2008.

1416 is the average SAT of admitted kids last year, but perhaps that legacy will help?

Haha averages don't mean a thing. Look at the mean range - 1340 ie means 25 % of the admitted applicants got less than 1340 i think you dont have that bad of a chance considering you being so close to a mean score + legacy is bound to help you.

Does Tufts have a distribution requirement?

Yes, Tufts has distribution requirements. I don't know what they are for those in the school of engineering but for liberal arts, go here for more info: http://ase.tufts.edu/bulletin/liberal-info.html

The distributions for LA are 3 semesters of language, and 3 semesters of a specific culture (or another 3 for language). Two mathematics requirements, two semesters of english, two natural sciences, and two humanities, one world civ, hm. That's all I can get from free recall from my memory at the moment.

Is Tufts really a school for ivy league rejects? What's your opinion on this?

I just started a new thread on this.
