I’m currently researching about acting schools and was wondering which ones would people recommend ; I’m looking for smth serious, location does not matter. I’m just really trying to find some accredited colleges or smth which offer acting classes.
I was looking into New York Film Academy( probably because it’s the one that pops out first) but there seem to be a lot of controversy about their programs.
Please, if anyone can recommend a great college/school or simply classes to attend I would greatly appreciate!
If you only want acting, you should post in the Theatre/Drama forum, not the Musical Theater forum.
Do you only want colleges, or good acting schools regardless of whether they give you a degree? In New York, Juilliard is the most highly acclaimed college for acting. Respected acting schools that aren’t colleges include the William Esper Studio, Circle in the Square, HB Studio, and Stella Adler.
NYFA (which you mentioned) is not well regarded.
But post in the Theater/Drama folder and you’ll get a lot more responses.
Thank you guys! @actorparent I’m not really sure if it’s better to attend a college or school, or just take classes here and here; right now my goal is to find smth with good reputation, serious but still affordable, not YALE of course:) but thank you again for your advice!
