EXTRA COMMENTS
I am inclined towards the sciences.
I moved around a lot my freshman year; therefore, I was not able to pursue many ECs. I am retaking the ACTs (my first time was a 33 with a week of prep) and am aiming for a 34/35
I've made two Bs in high school, one in honors algebra 2 in 9th grade and one in honors chemistry in sophomore year. In my next math classes, Honors Geometry, Honors Analysis, and AP Stat I made a 99, 95, and 96 respectively. In AP Chemistry I made a 94 and a 5 on the AP exam. I believe that shows a very high upward trend, so I hope it doesn't hurt me much.

I live in GA and am south Asian female.

Lol well I am not an admitted Yale student or anything, but I will give you my 2 cents anyway…just cuz if you are like me, you want all possible feedback on your app.

I just will review each component of your app.

GPA and Rank: Average for Yale…really only way to improve would be to become val/sal or something.

ACT/SAT: Average for Yale…definately try the SAT…but not needed

EC/Work/Community Servicve: Lol again average for Yale–You seem to have a passion for research and faith, but dont have any major “WOW” component that would win anyone over

Awards: This is the one section I thought may hurt you. The major thing I see is knowledge masters competition…but that seems a tad random and inconsistent with most of your ECs. School awards really wont do much for you. So, I dont know if there is much you can do at this point in time, but definately try to get some more science based awards. Maybe try to submit your work to Siemens or Intel.

Additional Info- Speaking as a proud white man, I absolutely hate to tell people that race will hurt them in the appliction process. However, as you probably already know, the fact that you are Asian will be a detriment to your college app. Especially because you fall into that “Asian who loves science” stereotype. TRY VERY HARD to break yourself out of any Asian “generalizations” and really sell yourself to Yale.

Conclusion-

Well, here is how I see it…Yale is a reach for you (as it is for most hookless applicants…including myself). Your chances are still above average from how I see it (20% or so). Definately apply, you stand a good chance of getting into at least one of the elusvie HYPMS schools.

Ya that was definately encouraging to see Harvard. However, some major accomplishments would help improve her chances…best of luck 2 u as well.
