please take the time to read. much appreciated.

im a white male at the top private high school in rhode island. i will be a junior this year and am wondering what my chances are at certain schools...or give recommendations. i took the sat when i was in sixth grade and received an 1000, so i feel like my sat score will most likely be on the higher side. i took the PLAN test this year and received a 29-32...or 99th percentile. my grades however, are alright, as i have about a b+ average...which includes 2 honors classes. as a language, i take latin, and have been taking it for 6 years. for sports, i am a 4 year varsity member of the squash team and 2 year varsity member of the golf team. during my soph and junior years, i am the sports editor for the newspaper, and senior year i will be editor in chief. i am also a 3 year member of the disciplinary committee, which at my school, is a great honor. i have about 200 hours of community service, including a 2 week trip to new orleans to help rebuild after the hurricane. i have now started a program at my school that sends kids down to new orleans to help.

my brother graduated from cornell university and my grandfather graduated from university of michigan. i'm not sure if i will get into either, but i think it's worth a shot. so here is my list of schools, and i'd really appreciate it if you'd let me know my chances....and i want to do something in either sports or entertainment industries...usc, uc berk, cornell, nyu, tulane, vanderbilt, u miami, u mich, u wisc, rice.

thanks alot for taking the time to read this.

good list of schools!
you have very impressive extracurriculars. your test scores should be good. Work on getting those grades up and you should be set for college. Good job!

mheckman1:

UCB: Super Reach (out of state)

can someone tell me my chances at some of the other schools listed and take all things i listed into consideration.

thanks

RI...tough state...
Cornell: Reach to high reach
U Mich: Out of state slight reach
Vanderbuilt: same
NYU: slight reach/maybe match
U Miami/U Wisc: no idea
Rice: Reach to high reach
UCB: don't apply out of state
USC: Match/slight reach

actually scratch that...u might be slight reach for cornell cuz legacy...u mich prolly a match legacy again

so if i applied to u mich, cornell, or usc early decision...what are my chances at each? i really need to know this. thanks

Well, Michigan has rolling admissions, so if you do want to apply, do so as early as pssible for the best chance of acceptance.
