<p>OP, glad to hear you have a life. Hope you go to LA with your friends and realize not getting a perfect score on the SAT is not the end of the world. The fact that you only heed the advice of those who tell you what you want to hear, however, should serve as a red flag. Surrounding yourself with sycophants is not the best way to prepare for life, unless of course you aspire to be a guru. </p>
<p>Again, I don’t mean to be cruel. If you were my kid, or my student, I’d say the exact same thing to you. </p>
<p>Best wishes on your college search. I hope you find a school that values you for who you are and what you can genuinely contribute to its community and not for how your SAT scores might help their USN&WR profile.</p>
<p>@LucieTheLakie I did not in any way mean to be an enabler. Yes, it’s true that no one’s guaranteed a spot at an Ivy League, but psychological studies have shown that “you are what you tell yourself you are” in sports. For example, if you tell yourself you’ll win a race, you’ll perform better. I personally feel that it’s the same in academics.</p>
<p>Sg12909, I can tell myself I’ll be a supermodel all day long and it still ain’t gonna happen. :)</p>
<p>The biggest problem I see with the OPs test scores is that she took the test again after getting 2300+. If I were reading that file, I would really question what motivates him or her.</p>
<p>Anything in the 2300 range is a pretty awesome score. And from your posts, you seem like a pretty well-rounded student. Get involved in extracurriculars (I recommend something like Model United Nations, Youth and Government, or Debate Team because of leadership positions). I’m sure your score won’t hurt you.</p>
<p>I’m in Speech+Debate And this was the first year the club was active at our school, and my partner and I won third place—the highest award our high school won this year. We felt really proud and accomplished as we were able to represent our school w/ distinction for the first time in Speech+Debate!!! :D</p>
