Please tell me about Calc BC

TWO years of Algebra II? First time I’ve ever heard of that kind of plan. I know of at least one school district that spreads Algebra I over two years, starting either in 6th or 7th grade. That kind of plan makes a lot of sense to me, as it takes the kids slowly through their first high-school-level math course, making sure they have a good foundation of the concepts. By the time students get to Algebra II, there should be no need for this kind of reiteration. Does the data analysis include statistics?

D1’s school has the Calc AB then Calc BC sequencing, which I suspect is done for administrative purposes. It’s a small magnet where the incoming 9th graders range from just having completed Algebra I to just having completed Calc AB. The majority of kids end up taking AB in 10th or 11th grade. AP Stat is the substitute math class for kids who don’t want to take BC or the lumped-together independent study post-BC math class.
