<p>DB, something is still rotten in Denmark. Everything you’ve listed in the curriculum is covered in the usual two year sequence of Algebra II and Trig/Math Analysis/Pre Calc. It sounds like there is some reapportioning of topics, maybe moving some things that were in one class to the other. It is ludicrous to expect students to take a whole year of reruns just so they could get to a handful of topics that weren’t covered under the transition year. </p>
<p>Definitely go push with the math teacher, the math department, and the school. There must be some other way to provide these kids with the few bits and pieces they’ll need to finish the classic 4-year high school math curriculum. There must also be a way to address the state graduation requirements for the few kids caught by this.</p>
