<p>If you can show a definite, and I mean definite interest in Cornell, I think you’ve got a really good shot. I feel like the “Why Cornell” essay is one of the most important parts of your application. As long as you have good enough stats, that essay can mean you’ll get the spot over someone with 100 points higher on their SAT. I wrote my essay about attending DHW and how I the professors I spoke with were extremely welcoming and intriguing, and gave specific examples of their research projects that I’d like to work on.</p>
<p>It got me in. While Cornell does obviously care about academics, fit seems to be one of the biggest aspects of their admissions.</p>
