i forgot to add:

ethnicity: asian indian
and i live in CA

...if that makes a difference

interesting.......i'm asian indian too and in the IB program and am also a junior. i pretty much have the same stats as you, but not EC's. but maybe you can improve your EC's a bit? and definately get a decent-good sat 1 score.

what can i do to improve my EC's?

Instead of just being a member, perhaps becoming an officer. Being dedicated in a few clubs and actually doing something, I think, is better then being a member of a whole bunch of different clubs.

also, should i even take the SAT1? because ice taken the ACT and i thought my score was pretty decent for these schools

please correct me if im wrong

your ACTS are good. No need to take SAT -1

extremefob:

Assuming a 2100 SAT I/II score,

UCB: Match
UCLA: Match
UCI: Safety
UCSB: Safety
UCSD: Safe Match
Cornell: Slight Reach
Darthmouth: Slight Reach
Columbia: Reach
UPenn: Reach

flopsy, what if i didnt take the SAT 1 and stuck with my ACT score? would your evaluations still hold true?

When did people start calling Dartmouth, "Darthmouth"?

extremefob:

Yes, the evaluations would still hold true. 32 ACT is a higher percentile score than a 2100 SAT I is, but not really enough to change my evaluations. And sorry about misspelling Dartmouth...

ONe more question...i took some AP's but i think i did really badly on them. Will this affect my admission?

you don't have to send you AP scores to colleges if you don't want to, unless your schools send AP scores along with your transcript.

Darthmouth---ranks right up there in annoyance level to me with "Dartmouth University" and dart-MOUTH as opposed to the correct pronunciation of DART-mith.

I have heard it sarcastically referred to, in WASPish, as "Dahtmouth" ;)
