Please tell me my chances...

Stony Brook is probably my reach choice of all the colleges I am applying to, however I am seriously considering attending. But that means nothing if I can't get ACCEPTED. Tell me if I stand any chance.

GPA: 84/100 total (2.9/4.0?), 78/100 academic
SAT: Critical Reading 490
Math 450
Writing 540
940/1600, 1480/2400
3 extracurriculars (activities and clubs, I mentioned on the resume that these included community service to an extent, but who knows if that will matter)
"Impressive" essay (as others had told me at least)
Class rank 151/250 (ouch! not even in the top 50%!)
NY state resident

I have an 85.86GPA and a 480V 560M 490W. I have been told I have a chance. Just because you don't meet the mean averages doesn't mean you can not get in. You would definetly get in through EOP is you qualify financially like I do. Anyways good luck.

I've heard some things about this EOP aid - I'll look into it, thank you.
Anyway, more opinions would be welcomed.

hey, did you apply to any Cuny colleges. you should really consider them because they have many good developing ones such as queens and city. what dou you think are my chances of fetting into those or their requiremnets.

hey you should did u apply to any cuny becuase i heard thay are very good and are developing very well esp. queens amd city. Do you think i would get into those or do u know their requirenments

No, I didn't apply anywhere in NYC or under the CUNY system. As for their standards and your chances of getting in, I would take it they have a list just like SUNY does on their website that shows you the average GPA/SAT etc of students that were accepted as undergraduate freshmen. You could also check a variety of specific school's statistics on collegeboard.com and princetonreview.com.

Anyway, onward with the topic and MY chances of getting into SB.
