Thanks alot!

what i think is holy **** that's a lot of colleges.

Read about them in a college guide and pick a lot fewer to actually seriously match scores and stuff, IMO

Edit: were those all the results from 1 search at CB.com? b/c when I do that, it always tells me UMiami in OH is the best school for me, which I doubt. Even if I specifically exclude Ohio as a state I like. C'est la vie.

JV tennis? thats fun

o yea i love it... anyone else.. ya it's a long list..... but owell....

What are you looking for in a college? That list is overwhelming.

What is your intended major? What is your prefered setting? It is a great list, but most schools in that list have almost nothing in common.

Welll I really have no clue whawt I want to do prolly a smaller student size .... could u go down the list with my stats and say reach/match.... and obviously none are safties...thanks

Schools you should take a closer look at (matches):
Macalester
Carleton
Grinnell
Tufts
Washington & Lee
Rochester
Emory
George Washington

HYPMS/AWS will be high reaches for you. I suggest throwing an application to Penn, Brown and Duke, but for HYPS especially you're in trouble.

good stuff, yea hyps i might just throw one out because yea...what about cornell? THanks

Cornell is awesome...but it doesn't have a "smaller student size". Cornell has 14,000 undergrads and 6,000 graduate students. It is certainly a large university.

I think you're a pretty solid student, but Ivies are out of your league.

Brown U -- major reach
Carleton C
Carnegie Mellon U
Colgate U
Columbia U Columb C -- major reach
Cornell U -- major reach
Dartmouth C -- major reach
Davidson C
Duke U -- major reach
Emory U -- reach
George Washington U
Georgetown U -- reach
Grinnell C
Harvard C -- major reach
Johns Hopkins U -- reach
Macalester C
Northwestern U IL
Pomona C -- reach
Princeton U -- major reach
Stanford U -- major reach
Tufts U
U Notre Dame
U Pennsylvania -- major reach
U Rochester
U Southern Calif
Vanderbilt U
Washington & Lee U
Yale U -- major reach

what would i do to raise my chances at the "major reach" schools... oh ya and our GPA is unweighted and with the hardest curriculum availible at my school, won't it be seen very highly considering its a competitive private school anyway?

or is it all about test scores?

Your GPA will be viewed based on how your school reports. Just because they don't rank doesn't mean they don't profile your grades. Many schools will report how many student are 4.0 and above, how many are 3.8-4.0, etc. Or they will report deciles without absolute rank. Test scores give adcoms a way to compare across schools with different profiles. You will be compared head to head on SATs.
