Please tell me this isn't right

Alright, so i'm locked in. I'll be attending Michigan in the fall.

I'm really worried though, because someone on this board said to me, and i quote,

Good luck finding people who will party with you on weekdays.

...IS THIS FOR REAL?? Because i'm a very social person and i REALLY want to be able to party on weekdays.

God i knew i should've just chose Madison.

You again? You crack me up.

It's a big place. You ought to be able to find SOMEONE who is either so genius they don't need to study to do well, or willing to risk academic probation to have a great time 7 days a week.

Seriously, from what I understand there is a continuum here, most people manage to work hard AND play hard. There are the grinds who don't play much, and then there are people who care less about school. I am sure you can find a core group of the latter.

Or you might just consider doing your school work... I'm just saying...

This isn't right.

If you want to party every night, you can and you will find people who will party with you. Bring / get a fake id - the best liquor stores for your fake are Strickland's, Champion, Campus Corner, etc.

Whether you will be able to get decent grades and drink every night is a different story.

lol this dude again..

Get some watermelons, apple pies, and vaseline.

I assume you have internet access because you are on CC.

You know what to do. Have fun!

Dsmo ok good ideas. Meh. michigan sounds weeeeeak. Oh well i only have to waste a year there. And hey maybe it's better than you guys say.

LOL@ Liist.

If you play your cards right, perhaps you can get that year down to a mere semester.

Liist, what are the apple pies for?

Just come to MSU, home of the true parties.

Lol, you should be posting this in "Is Michigan weak in any way?"

i kind of want you to stay just so you'll bump my class rank up a bit

you will have no trouble finding parties to go to every day

Dude, it's UofM. You're bound to find a huge group that just parties 5 out of the 7 days of the week. It's like this at EVERY college.

Yeah that's what i thought!!!

My parents forced me to go to Michigan cuz it's the best school i got into. I didn't really argue with them though because i figured that since it's so huge there're gotta be some crazy parties.

Hey hoedown how can i transfer to MSU or madison in a semester?

Lol, are you serious?
I gurantee you won't want to transfer from UofM once you're there for a year. I heard the parties and the football games are nuts.
You should be fine. It's a state school after all.

A side note, if you get into big academic trouble at Michigan, there is no way Wisconsin is going to take you. Even MSU will give you problems.

lol, I'm the exact opposite.

I got into MSU honors with a big scholarship, but rejected at Umich, and my parents are forcing me to transfer, haha.

I have no idea what the transfer policies of other schools are. If you're asking if you will be imprisoned on campus and unable to leave, the answer is NO. But I don't think that was your inquiry.

The challenge in transferring after just one semester is that, as you apply, you won't yet have grades in hand to show your capability of doing college-level work. And some schools want to see that in evaluating a transfer.

But like others said, maybe you'll like it and want to say. You can scrounge up some friends who also like to party, and then you guys can be the heroes who populate the lower end of the grading curve. Your peers will love you for it, seriously.
