-I know I added a lot of info but this is my first choice and I am freaking out. I’ve been checking the application tracker multiple times a day and my friends have all gotten in. I know the deadline isn’t until Jan 31st, but I would really appreciate some feedback!
We have similar stats and I haven’t gotten an update either. I think students like us (who are median/reach) need to wait a little longer. They send out the bulk of acceptances during the middle to end of February. Also, don’t worry about your friends getting in before you; my guess is they were auto accepted because of their high stats. They will have to spend more time looking at applications from people like me and you.
Did you two hear back yet or still waiting?
Nope, still waiting.
I have basically the same stats but am OOS and was on the phone with an admissions counselor who said I’d probably be deferred UMN is one of my tops so it’s kind of a bummer but I’m not giving up! Good luck to everyone!
Does calling admissions help in anyway. I wonder if we should call too. Did they tell tou why you will be deferred
My stats are 3.4 gpa and 30 act. Double legacy and havent heard back either.
@piecheese1 are you in state or oos? which school did you apply to?
@kisakyamaliya I’m not the type of person to sit around and wait so I emailed the CLA admissions rep an update on where I’m at in my senior year. She reached out to me on the phone and we had a discussion about the school etc. Said her professional opinion was that I would be deferred by Jan 31st. Honestly she was sweet as can be and we had a WONDERFUL talk so I don’t think it changes your admissions decision but I would encourage you to reach out. I feel like it helps the admissions rep to hear who you are as a person instead of reading it and it also helps the applicant feel like someones listening to you!!
Thank you
@jkirsy What did your initial email say? I would also like to give this a shot
@Napzee I basically just talked about what I had done so far in my senior year, my grades, extracurriculars I recently started participating in. I just wanted them to know (in more detail) that I had made my academic schedule more challenging rather than just sending my updated transcript alone! Hope that helps!!
Still waiting.
Out of state and liberal arts @kisakyamaliya
