please, this is too disheartening... i told princeton to expect my SAT 1 score.. but

i did worse on verbal than i did on my oct and nov ones..... !@#%@!$#@! i want to kill myself....... i dont know how this happened.. i really dont.. but, it went down from 690 to 660 to 650 this time despite my math went up to 800 on the nov and jan testing.... is there ANYTHINGi can do at this time to lessen the negative effect the drop may have? please, anything would be helpful... thx so much... just for my standarized testing info, my other sat 2 scores are 750 on writing, 800 on 2c and chem and 780 phy.... i sent my jan score to harvard princeton dartmouth and columbia... :(:(:(:(

i was deferred from ED... now everything is ruined. :(

I CAN'T BELEIVE THIS.....................................................................................

I Did Worse Mike....

Spilt milk. You can't do anything about it, so don't worry.

SAT scores aren't everything.

oh gosh...........................

You may disagree, but wanting to kill yourself over a standardized test is pretty far out there.

Princeton (and a majority of universities) states that they will take the highest combined total you have, regardless of a drop in a retest. A 1490 with a 800 on the math is already a pretty damn good score.

Anyway, at that level, I'd think that other factors would impact admission much more than 40 or so points on the SAT.

Don't worry about it.

Yo. Won't they just look at your highest score? They say they won't try to factor in your positive or negative progress for standardized tests (though for school grades it's a different story).

So fret not.

Princeton, Harvard, Yale all look at your higher score...so you're fine.

How did your verbal drop each time? Are you weaker in writing - because your sat II writing score is pretty strong?

I did really well on my essay. i think i got 75 out of 80 for that converted score.. but i did HORRIBLE on MC........

This time, i was sooooooooo confident that my verbal will be easily over 720 that i chose to sent my scores to the four schools..... I found the exam very easy.. but then i heard from a friend at mit who took the same exam (they reused the dec 03 one), he said he got 3 wrongs and got a 750.. the scale was a killer.... 690..... 660... 650... IM ASHAMED.. EVEN FOR THE 690.ARGH

I wouldn't stress about it too much, although you'll probably feel down for a few days. How hard did you study for the test? A 690 verbal is good, especially with your 750 writing... and it only dropped 40 points. The problem is that you took it three times, and it didn't improve at all.

I took the SAT's 3 times as well and my score never moved, so don't worry about it at all. Test taking just isn't some peoples strong point, and I'm sure if you are applying to Princeton you have other qualities that make you a great applicant.

my d took the jan test, and it was the same numbers as the first time she took it in her junior year. I can't believe the drop...110 points from her best scores. She did have a sinus infection at the time....maybe that had an affect and they were being rushed because of a blizzard......but maybe the test was screwed up....it just seems very unusual to me. she didn't indicate that she wanted the test sent anywhere, so I guess she is out trouble.............

Princetonwannabe, you emailed me the same thing that "thatsme" posted on this thread. Why are you posting on CC under two different accounts and pretending that you and "thatsme" are different people?

Also scandalous! It's a day of scandal on CC!

Atleast u didnt have exactly the same score ,like I did.Believe me,thats much worse.

This might not be the most tactful place to brag, but i got an 770 on the verbal.

That's great. What's your point again?

wait, we are not the same person... we do go to the same school, seniors and both applied ED to princeton... we have similar stats, exactl same sat 2s, cept his writing is 10 higher and my verbal is 80 higher... our accounts had the same pass and i used that one instead and occasionally he uses mine. i actually use the other account often.. cause some other boards gets offended by my name :(
hey, i wasnt trying to be two ppl... ive posted my stats many times.. and some ppl on this board probably knows them already. and i wouldnt really purposely email and post the same thing under two names, b/c ppl know the stats and posters...

Well, you guys love to use the :( face for some reason.

=)

i only know of :( :) and :p

btw Schwaby, where are you going to next year?
