please what are my chances?!

Please can someone give me an opinion on what my chance of getting into Princeton REGUALR decision are?

GPA = 4.0
GPA weighted = 4.655

My school doesn’t rank us.

SAT = 2190 (Math 780, Writing 730, Verbal 680)
*I am taking them again in October and I know I can raise Verbal score

SATII’s:
Math IIC = 790
Bio M = 720
*I am taking literature in November. I am shooting realistically for around 740.

AP’s:
AP US history 5
AP Calc AB 5
AP Lang and Comp 4

Freshman Year:
World History
Biology Honors
Geometry Honors
French II
Language Arts Honors
Concert Band

Sophomore Year:
American Studies Honors
Chemistry Honors
Precalc Honors
French 3
Language Arts II Honors
Concert Band

I took Algebra II for credit over the summer

Junior Year:
AP US history
Physics Honors
AP Calc AB
French 4 Honors
AP Lang and Comp
Wind Symphony

Senior Year:
AP Euro history
AP Biology
AP Calc BC (I know its kind of redundant but its the only math class I could take after AB)
AP French
AP Literature
Wind Symphony

The way it works out in my school you can not take AP’s before junior year.

EC’s:
Tutoring (9-12) (Sophmore and Junior year = VP, Senior year = Pres.)
I play the Flute and Piano in the school band and sing in the choir. (9-12)
Stage Crew (9-12)

JV tennis (10)
Pirate Players (We perform plays that deal with things such as sex, eating disorders, peer pressure etc. for kids at schools across our area) (9, 12)
Vedic Heritage Classes (helped teach the younger kids)

Summer:
My junior and senior year I spent the entire summer doing research in a biology/chemical engineering lab at Princeton University. Right now I’m working on writing a paper on the work I did, which we’re hoping to get published in a journal called Protein Engineering Design and Selection. Also the professor I worked with can definitely write me an excellent secondary recommendation.

I don’t know if it matters but I attended SIG (summer institute for the gifted) for the summer before my freshman and sophomore year.

Job:
I teach swimming at the YWCA, levels preschool-4 and adapted. (6 hrs/week all year)

Recs:
Im sure I can get great recs from my Physics and French teacher and Im hoping to include the one from the professor I worked with at Princeton as well.

Essay:
Im working on writing the best essay I have ever written…ever! I know this is realllly important so Im going to make it awesome.

Also I live in NJ about 15 minutes from Princeton actually. So basically everyone in my school who has a reasonable SAT score and decent GPA apply there. We usually have about seven or eight kids from our school that get in every year. So basically it’s a whole lot of competition within my school alone!

I really would like apply to Princeton regular decision. But would my chances be much better if I did ED??

also any thoughts on my chances at Stanford or Harvard??

Im trying to figure out which school (stanford, harvard or princeton) if any would be best to apply ED

Thanks sooooo much for the help!!!!

Your experience and recommendation from faculty here will really help you out. Even more so if you do manage to publish. Also, you ask us what schools would be best for you to apply ED, but you don't even say what you're thinking about majoring in. You don't have to have an affirmative answer to that, but you should at least have some vague idea before committing to a school (and the money it may cost).

Im thinking of majoring in biology. Maybe something like biochemistry related. Im pretty sure I want to stay away from premed. And I definately want to be able to have research opportunities as a undergrad.

At the moment I really do not have a number one school. Im still trying to see what would be the best overall fit. The reason I posted this was becuase I do not want to apply ED to a school im not sure is right for me. I wanted to see what my chances at getting into Princeton RD are so that I could keep more options open.

I know Princeton is a great school but I dont want to go there jsut for the sake of it being princeton.

Stanford is probably tops in reputation when it comes to undergraduate science, though to be honest it's hardly an objective thing one can measure and really comes down to uninformed opinion (which you should realize ~99% of this website is).

You should also be aware that almost any school worth it's salt (which means most public and good private schools in the country) will offer undergraduate research to those who want it. I wouldn't worry at all about missing out on that opportunity with any of the schools you mentioned. Do your goals involve graduate school? If not, you should really rethink why you want to do research to begin with.

If you've worked here and are from around NJ I'm sure you have a better idea about what Princeton is all about than any up-and-coming high schooler. Have you visited Harvard or Stanford? Your stats look fine except your somewhat low SAT score (relatively speaking of course, as it's an outstanding score in general), which is easily fixable and will hardly be a deciding factor in your admission, at least in my opinion. Obviously your chances would be better if you applied ED; just look at the admissions statistics for each and draw a conclusion.

Your chances are good ED for Princeton; RD significantly less. If you want to capitalize on your Princeton-related ECs and summers, I definitely would recommend applying early in this last year that the option is available.
