Pleasee chance a premed hopeful?

i’m interested in premed, but i’m not sure is this is the right school for that.
so just to start off, i think my hook will be my future. i plan on joining peace corps after undergrad, and then after my residency, i will join doctors without borders.
maybe become a ob/gyn because they are desperately needed in doctors w/o borders (medecins sans frontiers)

if this has any relevancy, i’m asian (chinese)
but from i’ve heard, being asian is a disadvantage under affirmative action.

my wgpa is 4.3 but unweighted is 3.6
not too good in my opinion.

sat II’s

thanks thanks.
how important is teacher reccomendations?

well…i’m not sure i’m qualified to answer your chances n stuff…but i know that UCs do not require/accept teacher recomendations…sorry i couldnt be of much help =/. but just looking at your stats…it looks great for davis =] best of luck!

I thought at first this was a chance thread for med school, haha. No one on CC can tell you for sure whether or not you will get into a specific school. Your stats are strong, much stronger than mine and I got in. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean you will get in.
/end lame monotonic talk about chance threads on cc

Your ACT is decent, especially if you raise it. For Davis, they will look at your community service and leadership roles more than anything else, extra curricular wise. AP scores don’t matter except for classes you get to skip. They’re optional for the admissions process. As long as you take another SAT II, you should be fine. Good luck.

What do you mean “essays aren’t important” in regards to SAT I? They’re part of the composite score, so yes they are important.
Keep in mind acceptances are based on a point system.

You have very similar stats to mine (4.4 wgpa, 3.9 uw; 2060 SAT I, 32 ACT) but you have much better APs and ECs.

You should get in, but as the above poster said, no one on cc can tell you for sure.

Oh, I’m asian (Filipino) and I got in for biological sciences.
