Trying to find out what type of equipment can be brought over plebe summer for baseball. I've heard that a couple of weeks into plebe summer you have sports sessions. How do you go about bringing cleats, gloves, cup, etc.?

Also, anyone know about NCAA paperwork requirements?

Thanks

The NCAA Eligibility form will be provided with the Permit to Report package. This form is used to determine eligibility for intercollegiate athletics, whether you plan to participate or not. Be sure you list EVERY university, college, junior college or community college that you attended and the dates you were there. Also include any prep school attended or military duty served. It is extremely important that you note the hours taken each semester that you attended an institution of higher learning. Fill this card out and bring it with you on Induction Day.

We filed all of the NCAA clearing house paperwork during spring of Senior year of high school. The NCAA will also needs to be on the list for your high school to send the final transcript. As I recall the clearing house also requires that SAT scores be sent. It is my understanding theat the clearing house paperwork has to be submitted whether you are recruited or not. Anyone participating in DivI or II has to go through the clearinghouse system. Even after completing the clearinghouse, the card also needs to be completed. My Mid sent it back in the documents that were returned to the academy prior to I DAy. The only "document" he carried on himself was ID and a copy of his medical "shot" record.

Having a distance runner, he had me send his spikes and running shorts about half way through Plebe Summer. I did see some kids bringing cleats on I Day, don't know how that worked out for them as the last thing you want to do is haul around excess stuff in your sea bag. There will be instructions in the permit to report package that will let you know what equipment is allowed.

Register with the NCAA clearinghouse following completion of junior year, and before the start of senior year.

List NCAA on all SAT/ACT reporting forms- they need to get a report of your grades (not copies).

Download the NCAA clearinghouse forms on-line....give the appropriate form to your school guidance office to send an initial transcript following completion of junior year..... you will need to have your HS send a final transcript to NCAA following completion of senior year as well. These are needed to complete your eligibility status.

Equipment: contact the coach for respective sport.... most teams hold a meeting the day prior to I-Day, at which time they collect any equipment brought from home.... this may differ from sport to sport, however, so be sure to ask. If they do not do this, plan on having your parents send your "stuff" in the mail .... the last thing you want to do is lug it around with you all day in your sea bag, which will be busting at the seams without anything else added to it.

Good luck!
