PLEEEASEEE chance me for engineering and i will chance back

I'm a female, white, Jewish senior from New Jersey. My weighted GPA is 3.998 (yes very annoying!). My freshman GPA was a 3.8, sophomore was a 4, and junior was a 4.2. My high school is one of the most competitive public high schools in the state. I've consistently had mostly A's and some B's. Only C was in freshman year english

Standardized Tests (best scores in each section):
SAT: CR 590, M 740, W 650, essay 10 (1330, 1980)
ACT: composite 30, English 35, math 34, science 30, reading 25

EC's/awards:
Freshman Year: freshman team volleyball and club volleyball, honor roll 3rd marking period
Sophomore Year: JV winter and spring track, Spectrum Club, honor roll all year
Junior Year: math club, Varsity cross country and spring track, JV winter track, National Honor Society, scholar athlete, honor roll all year, Panda club
Senior Year: Varsity xc, varsity winter and spring track, math club, National Honor Society, most likely honor roll all year and scholar athlete
And I've done different community service activities throughout high school

Senior Classes:
AP Calc AB
AP Physics-C
AP Stats
Printmaking & Photography
20th Century American Novels/Composition Workshop
Gym/Health

I've consistently taken 3-4 honors classes each year: science and french (9-11), math (10-11), history (9)

I'll definitely need financial aid based on my family's circumstances and I am not applying ED to any schools for that reason. My essays will probably be pretty good but not great. Recommendations will be very good (junior year physics teacher, sophomore history teacher/track coach, guidance counselor)

Class Rank: top 17% but I'm not reporting it
Work Experience: recreation camp counselor since the summer after sophomore year, tutor for a special needs 7th grader in math since summer after junior year, and I work at a frozen yogurt place this year during the year

I am applying for Undeclared Engineering to Bucknell, Lafayette, Lehigh, RPI, TCNJ, and SUNY Binghamton. I will be applying EA to Bing, and regular decision to all the others (none of them have priority/EA) Chance me please

I’m not sure about some of those schools, but you look pretty solid for Bucknell, Lafayette, and TCNJ. Lehigh looks like somewhat of a reach because most if not all applicants are for engineering.

Hey thanks for responding to my q! I’m not familiar with any of your schools but I don’t see why you wouldn’t get in! You have really amazing scores and ECs

Thank you both so much! Bucknell is my first choice and Lafayette is my second so that makes me happy  Does anyone else have any ideas?

I don’t really know much about your schools, but I have some general advice: Your ACT and SAT scores aren’t bad, but definitely try to improve them. Take some SAT IIs; some schools require them. Do you have any leadership positions in clubs? That’s always a plus. Your ECs are pretty good but it doesn’t look like you participated in many clubs for more than one year…

I know I wasn’t very helpful, but please chance me!

I’ve taken the ACT three times and the SAT twice. None of my schools require SAT II’s if you submit the ACT, which I am doing. I’ve had a problem with activities since freshman year. I regret not joining some bs club for 4 years and finding a leadership position. I’ll remain a member of all my clubs from junior year this year. My main commitments are track, cross country, and work. Unfortunately, schools might not realize it, but you can only get into National Honor Society junior year, and it’s a big commitment. Also, 3 seasons of sports and my job take up A LOT of time and I’ve done an excellent job managing my time so that I would still have time to get work and studying done. In my personal essay, I wrote about XC and I wrote about my summer job at a rec camp for my short answer so maybe they will understand my lack of EC’s and leadership positions. I will probably be a winter and spring track captain this year, but that won’t be on my transcript till after I apply. In track and XC, you can’t even get a leadership position until senior year. I wish I had more leadership but unfortunately I’m not in the best situation. Thank you for your help

From what I’ve heard RPI is probably the easier than Bucknell and Lehigh to get into. Bucknell is very selective, but I think you have a really good shot.

I havent heard of most of these schools but i would google up some scattergrams for these schools

Your stats are good and being a girl in engineering is usually a pretty good hook, so you’re chances are looking pretty good for all of those.

Thank you all for your feedback  anybody else?

can anyone else help me?

You have an excellent shot at getting into all these schools, in my opinion. Bucknell is the only iffy one, but besides that, you should have no problem. :)

My brother applied to all the schools you have listed, and had pretty much the same credentials as you, and he got in. So good luck to ya!

Ahhh thanks for your help! Of course Bucknell is my first choice haha. I visited and met with the dean of engineering. The supplement is painful but I’m trying to write good essays. I hope I get in. I love all my schools though and I’d be happy at any of them.

rpi and lehigh are reaches. but everything else are matches

Wow you’re credentials are amazing! I’m not exactly sure about some of the schools you picked because I’ve never really heard of them, but I have a great feeling you will get into Lafayette and Lehigh! Those are great schools! You should look into applying at U of I! They have a killer engineering program! You’re gonna do great! Good luck :)

Lehigh a reach, RPI and Bucknell are possibles, UIUC as well.

Binghamton is a good chance for you, as well as TCNJ, Lehigh may be a reach but theres no harm in trying, you definitely atleast stand a chance!

Considering you met the dean at Bucknell you have a good chance there, along with all the others, however keep in mind that RPI (they’re nicknamed the Engineers for a reason) and Lehigh have a large amount of engineering applicants, so make sure to stand out on their apps/supplements. I think you’ve got a great shot at all of them! Good luck.

It’d be appreciated if anyone could chance me here.

You should probably get into bucknell, lehigh, and Lafayette with those scores. And lol yea you do have a lot of the same scores as me.

Thanks everyone for your help  My guidance counselor thinks that TCNJ and Bing are safeties, Lehigh Laf and RPI are matches, and Bucknell is a slight reach. I would be extremely happy at any of them. I chose these schools because they aren’t too far away, they have generous aid, they’re all good sizes, and they have excellent engineering programs. I’ve visited all of them and Lafayette and Bing have representatives coming to school soon that I’m gonna talk to. Hopefully I’ll get into all of them and they’ll give me money. I know I will have excellent recs (one from my junior year honors physics teacher and the other from my sophomore history teacher who is also my track coach). I’m trying to write good essays and I’ve done all the supplements except for Bucknell’s which is a complete b*tch haha. Good luck to all of you at your schools :)
