Does anyone know if PLME acceptances are similar to medical school acceptances (GPA, MCAT, etc) in a way that PLME is not as holistic compared to admission to Brown College? For example, if one has mediocre/non competitive test scores, would the student’s app no go much further?

Also, would the PLME essays ever be considered for admission to the Brown College (they would get to know you a bit more through the PLME essays along with the overall application), or do they tend to ignore the essays completely for admission under Brown college?

Are you trying to ED PLME?
They will only consider your PLME essays if you get in. That is why I am going to write exclusively about why PLME is good for me in the PLME essays.
My test scores are below the average, but I’ve know and have met many people who have very high test scores, yet they just don’t care about school. Ironic… But, I would say don’t worry about test scores.

I feel the same way, and yes I was planning to ED PLME. When I looked everything over, I don’t believe my lower scores/limited hospital experience will result in an acceptance. That’s why I think I may focus more on my other essays to get int Brown College (which is my #1 priority.)

I wonder if it is ever possible to ED Brown college but apply regular to PLME?

It’s not possible to ED to Brown and apply RD to PLME - you need to submit them together. If you’re sure about Brown and PLME, just ED them. If you’re not happy with your Brown essays, work on them first, since that’s the first step. Do apply to PLME if you want it, though - it can never hurt! I can answer any PLME questions you have - PM me.
