PLME and Pre-med at Brown

<p>I’ve done some research, and I would like some reassurance/clarification.
Is PLME basically a guaranteed spot at Brown’s medical school? Can students who do not want to commit to the 8 year PLME program still follow a “pre-med” coursework at Brown?

<p>Yes, being accepted to PLME means that you have also been accepted to the Warren Alpert Med School at Brown. The PLME has a very low acceptance rate (I think it hovers around 2-4% each year), so most pre-med students at Brown are not part of the PLME. More info here:</p>

I was rather intimidated about committing to an 8 year program at this point. It’s good to know I don’t have to do so.
Not to assume I believe I’d be accepted to the PLME, of course ;)</p>
