PLME: ED vs. RD

Does anyone know the admissions rates for plme ed vs. rd?
also, exactly how many plme spots are there?

i think there are around 60 plme spots per class. admit rate is around 5% for ED and lower for RD.

I believe they aim for 50-60 to matriculate (college class of 2010 has 55) but they accept more like 100, give or take.

wow, so ED PLME'ers have wayyy less chance getting in early than regular...thats interesting, you'd think they'd want to lock a class in

2o_o7, I don't know how you inferred from jenz129's comment that EDers have a less chance of getting in when he/she specifically says "admit rate is around 5% for ED and lower for RD."

i did not infer from jenz's comment...

it was reported that 15 people were accepted ED... 2-5% accept rate...

i apologize?

A 2-5% accept rate doesn't necessarily mean that the RD acceptance percentage for PLME is necessarily any better, which is what you claimed.

Apology accepted. =D

it wasn't a claim...more of an exclamation i suppose.

(p.s. w.t.f CC, please do not break tomorrow during ED notification ahhsughdufhg)

[edit, because who knew cc censored acroynms??]

Uh...claims and exclamations aren't mutually exclusive. For example "You're stupid!" is both an exclamation and a claim: I am excited about your stupidity and am also claiming that you are stupid.

it was also about the fact that 15/100 people were taken early, when wouldn't it make more sense to take about a third? therefore... the advantage of applying early decision to PLME is not that great.

I did not "claim" a fact or try to dispute anyone else's...why are you freaking out about this?

How can you know the advantage of applying to PLME via ED without considering or comparing the ED acceptance rate to that of RD? Maybe if you mentioned them, your concern would make a lot more sense. Yes, a supposed 15/100 is lower than a third, but that doesn't explain how it is worse than RD. I'm not saying you're necessarily wrong, just that we don't know exactly what you mean if you're leaving stuff out.
