<p>If you are interested in one of the following multiple degree programs at Brown, please indicate the program of interest and respond to the required essay(s). Upload your response and include your full name, school, and birth date at the top of the page. (Limit your total response to 500 words.)</p>

<p>And there are two essays. Is it 500 words for EACH essay, or both essays on the page have to be 500 words? The “total response” threw me off a little bit. </p>

<p>If it is any consolation: this seems to have confused a number of people. So if we all have it correctly that the directions are as stated (duh?) , maybe you will have passed a first hurdle by following the directions, as opposed to many other students who choose to ignore them and write over-wordy answers.</p>

<p>It’s just that these word limits are so difficult, especially when you are writing about something you’re passionate about, you know? :)</p>
